Sustainable social housing - Tiburtino III

The proposed area object of the contest, located in the suburbs east of Rome established the Tiburtino III densely populated and urbanized, is an important objective for the creation of an experimental project, allowing the conversion of some portions of the building utilized in Lodging knows the one hand respond to emergency housing and land, on the other, becomes the occasion for exploring new models of living and better able to re-interpret the architectural features, technology and managerial areas of social housing construction. This becomes an opportunity to improve the supply of services and spaces for collectivity ‘and an opportunity’ to determine a concrete widespread redevelopment of the urban environment.
The model is designed based on criteria of eco-sustainability and seeks to address both the technological and social reasons, that such a strong integration and enhancement of environmental and landscape element. All this in order to enhance and upgrade public spaces, provide new community services district, breathe new life to the neighborhood itself, making it more comfortable, pleasant and safe.
Pivilegiati aspects of environmental sustainability in the project include an extensive use of green roofs, the inclusion of the generalized use of low tech, natural ventilation, the panels fotovoltaic and design features intended to create value from the filter zone climate-regulating, a careful provision of space that takes into account, despite the orthogonal geometry of the abutments and the seniority of the best orientation. For social sustainability, crucial aspect for the success of the project, has been tackled both the identification between citizen and lived as well as the relationship between housing and the changing conditions and composition of households over time. Both aspects are central themes of the project, the study of color, attention to the gestalt quality of open spaces are part of responses. In particular, careful study of the adaptation types, study that compares the economic aspects of sustainability in terms of expenses, making this a successful project scope for a sober and responsible approach to design but that does not give up amaze.
